Services Provided

General Dentistry

General dentistry includes dental treatments such as:

  • Restorative (Fillings)
  • Prophylaxis (Cleaning)
  • Examinations
  • Radiographs (X-Rays)
  • Prosthetic (Crowns, Bridges, Dentures)
  • Endodontic (Root Canal) Therapy
  • Periodontal (Gum) Therapy
  • Oral Surgery (Extraction)

*Note: in some instances patient may be referred to specialists.

Priority of Care

Category 1- Active Duty/Reservists (Mission Essential)

The primary mission of the DENTAC-Japan, Torii Station Dental Clinic is to maximize the dental readiness and oral health of active duty members. Reservists can be seen if they are on orders that extend more than 30 days Priority for access to care within any Army Dental Clinic is governed by TB MED 250. A policy letter establishing priority for care categories of active duty personnel is available at the reception area of the dental clinic.

Category 2- Space Available (Command-sponsored Dependents)

By Army Instruction, non-urgent dental care for all non-active duty patients is limited to "Space Available" care. Availability of appointments for non-active duty beneficiaries varies greatly throughout the year.
 

Category 2- Space Available (Retirees and Retiree’s Family Members)

This refers Retirees who have retired from active duty service with Dental benefits and have ID card or Documents to prove access to care. Availability of appointments for non-active duty beneficiaries varies greatly throughout the year.

Important Information

Dental Sick Call

Sick Call is available Monday through Friday (duty days): 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. For after-hours dental emergencies, patients will Evans Dental Clinic, located on Camp Foster, Bldg. 449. Phone Number: 645-7381.

Dental Emergencies

The following are usually considered dental emergencies:

  • Severe Pain
  • Severe Swelling
  • Uncontrollable Bleeding
  • Acute Trauma

The following are generally NOT considered to be dental emergencies:

  • Loose teeth (adult or baby teeth) unless associated with trauma/injury
  • Loose permanent or temporary crowns and/or broken fillings or teeth that occur while eating

Failed Appointments

Please contact the Dental Clinic 4 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment if you know that you will be unable keep it.

Children in the Dental Clinic

Parents may accompany their child/children into the dental treatment room if deemed medically necessary by a provider. Other children under the age of 12 may not be left unsupervised in the waiting area or be brought back to the dental treatment room.
