Family Medicine Clinic

Family Medicine specializes in taking care of patients from cradle to adulthood including obstetrical care. We also perform a number of outpatient procedures in clinic such as skin biopsies, joint injections, and more.

Think you’re pregnant?

USNHO is committed to providing you and your family with emotional and educational support as you move along your pregnancy journey!

Whether or not this is your first pregnancy, each pregnancy and birth experience can bring its own set of joys and challenges. Our clinics are staffed with registered nurses, OB/GYN doctors, Certified Nurse Midwives, and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioners who are ready to answer your questions and deliver patient-centered care.

If an active duty or beneficiary spouse believes she is pregnant, obstetrical care can start without a PCM appointment or OBGYN referral. To initiate obstetrical care, patients can message the Family Medicine Clinic through the MHS Genesis patient portal. Please send a portal message to Okinawa Family Medicine Clinic, and title the subject "Pregnancy confirmation.” In the message, please confirm the date of your last menstrual period and include a current working phone number. Please note, phone calls from USNHO will show up as No Caller ID. Alternatively, to reach the clinic by phone please call 646-WELL opt 2, opt 1 from a DSN phoneline or +81 098-971-7517 from a cell phone. Patients may also come into the Family Medicine Clinic in person to request labs for pregnancy confirmation. Then the patient proceeds to lab to provide lab sample. After collection, urine pregnancy test results will post in MHS Genesis patient portal for you to review results on the same day. Please allow time for our nursing team to receive and review the results. The nursing team will reach out to you once you are 7 weeks pregnant according to your last menstrual cycle to obtain a comprehensive phone intake and you will receive next steps for your prenatal care. The first ultrasound is completed during your first OB appointment with a provider between 10-12 weeks of pregnancy. We look forward to speaking with you!
